Student Leadership

Executive Board

The Executive Board, shortened to E-Board, is the student-organized leadership team for the Catholic Newman Community. They organize Newman events, maintain the budget, and brainstorm new ways to promote student engagement. Join them for any and all Newman-sponsored events, services, and liturgies on campus.

President: Acts as the primary liaison and spokesperson between the Catholic Community and the Associate Director of the Newman Catholic Community at RIT. Presides over Executive Board meetings and supports the planning of community activities. Delegates responsibilities and serves as the main representative for both on-campus and external partnerships.

Vice President for Internal Affairs: Steps in for the President when needed and collaborates with the Associate Director on programming and event planning. Focuses on recruiting student leaders and guiding them in implementing events. Oversees committee chairpersons and ensures all necessary paperwork is completed for programs.

Vice President for External Affairs: in for the President or Vice President for Internal Affairs when required. Manages the Newman Community's social media presence and external communications. Recruits leaders for promoting events and works with campus resources to foster a connection between Newman and the broader campus.

Secretary: Takes and promptly uploads minutes from all Executive Board meetings, ensuring previous records are available for review. Works closely with the Associate Director to get approval for event advertisements, adhering to RIT’s regulations.

Treasurer: Recruits and schedules volunteers to count donations from liturgies and works with the Business Manager for fundraisers. Handles necessary paperwork for legal compliance, including annual raffles and grant applications. Manages financial reporting for events like the Evening of Hospitality for the Homeless.
